A PLAYABLE SPATIAL INDEX
Find only what
falls inside.
A survey archive stores objects in nested bounding boxes. Open boxes that overlap the green query window; prune those entirely outside. At the leaves, collect every intersecting object and skip the rest.
Green: query window · Amber: current boxes · Circles: object centers. An object's full box determines intersection, not just its center.
What the index actually does
This is an actual RBush R-tree built from the survey rectangles. Its internal nodes group nearby records into bounding boxes. A rectangle query visits only overlapping nodes. RBush.search computes the answer independently; your collection is compared with it. Touching an edge counts as overlap.
